Meet Robert Tarnow LAc

 Licensed Acupuncturist and Owner of Light Touch Acupuncture

Robert Tarnow is an NCCAOM and New York State certified Acupuncture Physician. His initial course of study earned him a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from SUNY Cortland, and a job as a personal trainer. It was during this time that a chance encounter with a client who was diagnosed with fibromyalgia would change everything. Exercise and nutrition were not enough to help this client which sent him looking for answers. This search pointed him in the direction of alternative therapies as a potential solution, and sparked his interest like nothing before. Not long after, Robert was enrolled at East West College of Nature Medicine in Sarasota, FL. There he further integrated his new knowledge with an externship at the Sarasota Rehabilitative Hospital. After completing his Master’s in Oriental Medicine, he jumped at the chance to return to NNY. Even with the changes in Massena since his childhood, Robert is ecstatic to once again call the North Country home.

He has now been practicing for over ten years, with the last nine being back here in Massena. With his desire to make this safe, effective, natural medicine more available to those in Upstate NY he’s currently seeing patients in three locations: Massena, Malone, and Canton. All appointments can be scheduled through the main office in Massena, and insurance is accepted.

When not in the office, you can most commonly find him somewhere out in nature. An avid hiker, he utilizes acupuncture himself to help recover from long treks in the Adirondacks. Though you might also bump into him while paddling a quiet stream or camping somewhere. Chinese medicine does preach ‘balance’ after all.
